1. Lotto Sales Surge by 38.3% Year-on-Year
Following the implementation of the higher minimum jackpot prizes on February 1, the PCSO recorded a significant spike in public participation. Official data released on February 9 shows that total lotto sales from February 1 to 7 reached PHP 413.8 million, a 38.3% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
- Key Detail: The volume of tickets sold also grew by 10.7%. General Manager Melquiades Robles attributed this growth to the “improved value proposition” of the new prize structure.
2. Implementation of New Prize Structure and Price Adjustment
Effective February 1, 2026, the PCSO officially adjusted its pricing and jackpot tiers:
- Ticket Price: Tickets for all jackpot-bearing games have increased from PHP 20 to PHP 25.
- New Minimum Jackpots:
- Lotto 6/42: PHP 10 Million
- Mega Lotto 6/45: PHP 15 Million
- Super Lotto 6/49: PHP 25 Million
- Grand Lotto 6/55: PHP 45 Million
- Ultra Lotto 6/58: PHP 75 Million
3. Historic WLA Level 3 Accreditation
The PCSO announced it has achieved Level 3 Accreditation for the Responsible Gaming Framework from the World Lottery Association (WLA).
- Significance: This is a first for the Philippine gaming industry. The certification indicates that the PCSO has moved beyond policy-setting to the actual implementation of global best practices in player protection, integrity, and ethical operations.
4. Expansion of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The agency continued its medical missions and aid distribution across the country last week.
- Pampanga Missions: PCSO provided medical assistance and hygiene kits to residents in areas like Magalang, Pampanga.
- Funding Impact: Management emphasized that the surge in sales directly bolsters the government’s capacity to fund the Universal Health Care program and various medical social services for underprivileged Filipinos.
